MEHS Celebrates Its Own Award-Winning Artists

Two very talented Mankato East students received awards for artwork submitted in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. This is an extremely competitive scholarship program for the arts. In Minnesota alone there were close to 5,000 entries. The MEHS commonity is very pround that two of our own rose to the top! The awardees were Eleanore Irmiter and Xochilt Tobias.













Works that are judged as being successful for inclusion in the MN exhibit are awarded either a Gold Key Award, a Silver Key Award or an Honorable Mention. Approximately 300 Gold Key, 350 Silver Key and about 650 Honorable Mention awards were granted.

Awards earned by Eleanor and Xochitl are as follows:

Eleanore received Silver Key Awards for Final Looks

Eleanore received Silver Key Awards for Progressive Collage Portfolio

Eleanore received an Honorable Mention for Life in the Doll House

Xochitl received an Honorable Mention for Night Drive

Xochitl received an Honorable Mention for Another Summer Day
